Last updated 2026-10-04. How we collect, use and protect your personal information.

Zenith Design & Renovations ("Zenith", "we", "us") renovates homes in Alberta and British Columbia. We collect only the personal information we need to talk with you, plan and price your project, do the work, and run our business. We handle it in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act, as they apply to us.

What we collect

  • Contact details: your name, phone number, email address and the address of the project.
  • Project information: what you tell us about the project, your budget comfort and timing, and photos or measurements of your home taken at the consultation or sent by you.
  • Contract and payment records: estimates, contracts, change orders, invoices and payment records.
  • Job applications: if you apply to work with us, the details, resume and work photos you send.
  • Phone calls: when you call us, we may keep a record of the call (number, time, notes, and where we tell you so at the start of the call, a recording or transcript) so we can follow up.
  • Design visits: with your agreement at the start of the visit, we record the audio of your in-home design visit, and we may take photos and video of the areas we discuss. Our own computers turn the audio into a transcript and notes (it is not sent to an outside AI service), so the design team gets every detail right and you get a written summary to confirm. Only the staff who run design visits can open it. You can say no and nothing changes, ask for a copy, or ask us to delete it. We keep the audio as set out under How long we keep it; the transcript and the summary you confirmed stay with your project records.
  • Website use: basic technical information such as pages visited and the type of browser, used to keep the site working and understand which pages help people.

How we use it

  • To answer your questions, book and carry out your consultation, and prepare your price.
  • To plan, schedule and complete your project, including sharing what is needed with our crew and sub-trades.
  • To apply for permits and arrange inspections where your project needs them.
  • To send you project updates, invoices and warranty follow-ups.
  • To consider your job application.
  • To meet our legal, tax and insurance obligations.

We will only send you marketing messages if you agree to them, and you can unsubscribe at any time. We do not sell your personal information.

Consent

By contacting us, booking a consultation or applying for a job, you consent to us using your information for the purposes above. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us, although we may then be unable to provide some services, and we may need to keep certain records the law requires.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only as needed to do the work and run the business: with our employees, sub-trades and suppliers working on your project; with municipalities and inspectors for permits; with our payment, accounting, email, phone and software providers; and with our insurers and professional advisers. Some of these providers may store information outside your province or outside Canada, where it may be subject to the laws of that place. We expect everyone we share information with to protect it.

How long we keep it

We keep project and contract records for as long as needed for warranty, tax and legal purposes, and job applications for a limited time after a hiring decision unless you ask us to keep them on file. When we no longer need information, we delete or destroy it securely.

The audio of a design visit: if the visit becomes a project, we keep it with the project records for the life of our workmanship guarantee; if it does not, we delete it 2 years after our last contact with you.

How we protect it

We use reasonable safeguards: password-protected systems with access limited to the staff who need it, secure storage of files, and care with paper records on job sites.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask questions about how we handle it. Contact us using the details below. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta, or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia, depending on where you live.
